A lot of out Texas clubs have been busy teaching this year. Recently the Dallas Fly Fishers taught two TPWD Fly Fishing Classes. The first one was at the Carrollton Senior Center. They went there thinking that they were going to have 8 students but when they showed up they had 23. The students ranged in age from early grade school kids to as Jere Anderson put it “the rest looked like the teaching team”. The next week DFF went to Dallas Baptist University and taught a class on Monday and followed up on Tuesday by taking the students to the Freshwater Fishery Center to let them test out the skills they learned and try to catch a fish on a fly rod.

Thanks to Richard Johnson and Jere Anderson for being so dedicated to fly fishing education.

On June 15th the Red River Fly Fishers will be having their first Learn to Fly Fish Event at Eisenhower State Park.  For more information go to http://rrff.org/

We are planning a TPWD Angler Ed Instructor Course for sometime in July. The class will be taught by the Red River Fly Fishers and will more than likely be taught at Eisenhower State Park.
Anyone who might be interested in becoming certified as an Instructor please email Jerry Hamon at  revtcf@gmail.com  so we can get you on the list.
